Dress Fitting

Mom and I took a roadtrip to Wauseon on Saturday for another fitting. Great news, a dress really can be taken in from a size 20! The alterations are coming along nicely and as always the folks at Shaw's are just so nice. We were invited to join them for a tea party in honor of Mother's Day but had to take off abruptly as I realized I was going to be late for our engagement photo session. In the end, the session was canceled due to rain. We've rescheduled for the first weekend in June.
Question of the post: veil or no veil?

  • I love the way a veil looks. You don't need to spend a ton to get one either. You can buy tulle really cheap from a fabric store and sew it onto a plastic comb. I made my own and bought the headpiece on Ebay really cheap. I think the whole thing total cost about 35 bucks.

  • Veil.

I don't know you, but I'm pretty certain that this crazy man I met would think unveiling the most gorgeous woman on the planet would be a GREAT adventure.. and a PRIZE. I could be wrong... it was a long time ago. :)

Probably not the place for it, but I didn't know where else to post my question:

I was sitting in my office this morning and I sneezed, fell off my chair, and laughingly pictured myself doing the exact same thing at a wedding many years ago... and the tune of "You're So Cool" popped into my head. Made me think of you. :)

And it made me wonder if you'll be playing some Hans-Zimmer at your wedding/reception (like I plan to..)?

  • Eileen, how nice to hear from you, thanks for finding our little wedding blog!

And for those of you who don't follow the reference, its seem Eileen remembers (even better that I) that one of my all-time favorite movies, True Romance, has some very nice music in it, much suited to a ship deck.

All that said, I hope now that even more random women I knew years ago will start posting comments -- it keeps Mimi on her toes. :) Cheers!

  • Hmmm...... Veil or no veil, To be or Not to be.
It really comes down to who you are and how you will feel after you and your soon to be sister-in-law spent the entire night going to Crafts 2000 to pick out just the right veil to hot glue on some rhinestones and also on your white tennis shoes to wear after dinner. Just to have the darn thing draped down the back of your $75 or more hair do and people tugging it every time your are hugged then your are worried that your up-do will fall. But that wouldn't happen because the stylist uses 2 cans of aqua net and bobby pins galore. Then you spend most of the night fishing for bobby pins in your honeymoon suite then your find just one more as you... nevermind you get the point.

That's what happened to Shallon and I. The veil was pretty and what I had pictured. Thanks to Sacha!!

My advise, NO VEIL! Just get a pretty Tiara and call it a day. Aunt Pat's Bridal has a great selection starting at $10. Better yet, use mine. Something Borrowed, right.

You do remember you need something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new and a penny in your shoe?

    Something else to worry about
