We have selected a wedding location!

How's a retired-lakefreighter-turned-historical-musuem sound?

We wanted an outdoor setting for our ceremony but were having trouble finding a location that could accommodate all of our guests. After several day trips spent driving throughout the region, we went to International Park to check out our options. Made nervous by goose poo and brown grass, we looked down (and into) the river and saw what we think may just be the perfect setting: the S.S. Willis B. Boyer. Don’t get the wrong idea ... it is truly an old, retired lake freighter, not a hoighty-toighty luxury yacht. That said, it has loads of character including dressing quarters and a captain’s map room where the guys can ... chat. The wedding will take place on the deck in the late afternoon with the High-Level Bridge in the background. Our booking of the Boyer, which was done after we had booked our reception location, has steered us toward a theme of old-time travel. Bon voyage!
